Description
Bimatoprostophthalmic solution 0.01% and 0.03% is a synthetic prostamide analog with ocular hypotensive activity; is aclear, isotonic,colorless sterile ophthalmic solution with an osmolalityof approximately 290 mOsmol/kg.
Adding proportion for reference
Bimatoprostophthalmic solution: 0.01% contains Active:
bimatoprost 0.1 mg/mL;
Preservative:benzalkonium chloride 0.2mg/ml;
Inactives: sodium chloride; sodium phosphatedibasic;citric acid;and purified water.
Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid may be added to adjust pH. The pH during its shelf life ranges from 6.8-7.8.
Bimatoprostophthalmic solution: 0.03% contains Active:
bimatoprost: 0.3 mg/mL;
Preservative:benzalkonium chloride: 0.05 mg/mL;
Inactives: sodium chloride; sodium phosphate,dibasic; citric acid;and purified water.
Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid may be added to adjust pH. The pH during its shelf life rangesfrom 6.8-7.8.

Application
Bimatoprost is a prostaglandin analog used topically (as eye drops) to control the progression of glaucoma and in the management of ocular hypertension. It reduces intraocular pressure (IOP) by increasing the outflow of aqueous fluid from the eyes. It has also been used and prescribed off-label to lengthen eyelashes.
